-------- Weapons 5-20: Blacksmith blades 20-95: Military fork 85-il: Cutlass Skully or 95-99: Spike 99-il: Titanium blade The 99th etched spear is bad and not worth the time. The 99th flamespear is only particularly valuable for raising other characters in ATG1. At il and above, you want to consider making an etched spear, or a mark-appropriate slog's club otherwise. Etched spears take ten days to make, but you can start the process before taking the mark - prepare accordingly. Flamespears at il+ are powerful weapons, but it's never worth trying to chase that price tag. Bear in mind, all warrior weapons worth using will Break on Death, and do need to be protected using kruna item protections during regular use - don't tempt fate by training with unprotected break on death items equipped or in your inventory. You can buy kruna item protections from other players if you can't use the kruna store yourself. At il and above, mark-appropriate cutlass skullies are still potent weapons, but rage will cause them to break quickly. You can either commit to buying several, or repair regularly during hunting, or look for a more durable weapon in the etched spear or slog's club. --------- Helms Clan helm = Totem helm < (Any) Amber casque < Macerated Diadem Amber casques are worth picking up. Skull of the Beast does add a few percent of damage early on, but again, doesn't deserve its price tag. -------- Hands Red rings are handy early for landing swings. Ambrosia will take you from 55 to il. Mark appropriate vortex hands are nice, but they're relatively small incremental upgrades. Any of them will work really - other stats are relatively insignificant compared to the AC. -------- Subacc <99, there are quests for floret pendants and gruff rings. These aren't necessary, but are nice to have. 99+, all subaccessories for a given mark provide the same AC, and that's really what they're for. Bones are typically the cheapest option. Worth getting, but wouldn't stress not having them - modern ATG doesn't prioritize AC very much. -------- Armour <99, the tiger mail quests are worth pursuing. You will definitely want to work on the star/moon/sun armour quests when the opportunity arises. However, bear in mind these quests consume karma - if you are aiming for Chung Ryong, you may wish to make sure you get Blessed by the Watcher (Ox karma) so you can easily take your subpath before you spend karma on armour quests. Wind armour is necessary for Sa-san, but never really worth using in combat. -------- Shields Early on, you'll need to complete the Nagnang guild warrior gauntlet quest. You can find the gauntlet just northwest of the guild. This is a tricky quest - a combination of bringing a mount / mount item, relogging in-place to buy a few seconds, killing non-critical obstacles, should do the trick. If you get completely stuck, logging off for a longer period should cause animals to drift apart. This provides a Nagnang shield, which only registered characters can hold and is Break-on-death. You need to finish this to move on to better shields. All other warrior shields are built from a Tall Shield - say 'shield' to the Nagnang smith and bring 20 ginko wood and 4 fine metal. This is equivalent to the Nagnang shield, but you'll also use it during the Nagnang shield quest to trade for bigger shields. The Nagnang shield quest cannot realistically be solo'd by a warrior - you'll want to find a caster to help out. | |
